What to expect at Wildflowers

Every gathering is gently structured so girls know what is

happening while still having freedom to participate in their own way

A gentle welcome

Time to arrive, observe and settle in with a parent or trusted adult nearby. There is no expectation to join immediately.

A creative invitation

A hands-on activity provides a shared point of interest. Girls can create, explore or adapt the activity in whatever way feels comfortable.

Connection without pressure

Talking, parallel play, watching and taking breaks are all valid ways to participate. Friendship is allowed to develop naturally.

A predictable ending

Girls are given clear notice before the gathering finishes. There is no forced sharing, performance or uncomfortable group goodbye.

Who Wildflowers is for

Wildflowers may be a good fit for neurodivergent girls aged 5–8, 9–11 and 12–15 who want connection but need it to happen more gently.

She wants friendship, but groups feel hard

Busy environments, social expectations, previous friendship difficulties or fear of getting it wrong may make typical groups overwhelming.

She needs time to feel safe

She may stay close to her parent, watch before participating or need repeated experiences before she feels comfortable enough to connect.

She connects in her own way

She may prefer shared interests, creativity, parallel play or quieter communication rather than direct conversation and organised group games.

Wildflowers is a social and community program, not a therapy program.

Girls do not need to perform independence, meet social goals

or hide their needs in order to belong.
